Expanded Scholar Para sa Masa Program to Receive Top Priority Status from Lizares Administration

Thirty-eight (38) Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC) City of Talisay scholars under the expanded Scholar Para Sa Masa Program were awarded their scholarship claims in a simple and meaningful ceremony at the Mayor's conference room of the Talisay City Hall last saturday morning.

In a first-of-a-series of scholarship awarding ceremonies, 38 CHMSC students together with their parents and guardians trooped to the City Hall and gamely asked questions during the Q&A session after listening to pep talks from Assistant City Administrator Ismael Penado, CHMSC Director of Administrative Division Rosalinda Tuvilla and Community Affairs Head Marlyn Simondo, pillars of the Scholar Para Sa Masa Program conceived from the administration and a legacy of the late former Mayor Anthony V. Lizares.

One of the parent and guardian of a recipient, Mrs Nieva Hita-as of Hacienda San Jose, Barangay Catilingban, Talisay City came with her daughter Marie Lanie Hita-as, a fourth year Bachelor of Elementary Education student of CHMSC. A widow, Mrs. Hita-as spoke her heart and is undyingly grateful to Mayor Lizares for the continued support his administration has accorded to this flagship program.
