Mayor Atty. Weng Lizares led the official turnover and blessing of a newly renovated two-classroom building and two durable metal doors at Cabatangan Elementary School on July 28.

The project forms part of the Gwapa Nga Panghimanwa administration's ongoing initiatives to upgrade public school facilities across Talisay City, building on the educational infrastructure programs established under former Mayor Neil Lizares' Gwapo Nga Serbisyo.

The ceremonial blessing was officiated by Rev. Fr. Emiel Mijares, with Cabatangan Elementary School Principal Lilibeth Cuenca formally accepting the upgraded facilities on behalf of the faculty and students.

Former Mayor Neil Lizares attended the ceremony alongside local government and education officials, including Barangay Cabatangan Punong Barangay Joemar Baroquillo, former Punong Barangay Alfonso Bastian, DepEd Talisay OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Jen Ann Rosal, CESO VI, and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Noel Santillan.

The rehabilitated classrooms provide a safer, more conducive learning environment for Cabatangan's elementary students as the city government and DepEd continue their joint efforts to improve public school standards across Talisay.
