Mayor Atty. Weng Lizares warmly received FSSUPT Gerry G. Berte, Acting Regional Director of the Bureau of Fire Protection - Negros Island Region (BFP-NIR), during an official courtesy call at the Mayor’s Office, Talisay City Hall, on August 11, 2026.

The strategic meeting highlighted the strong, ongoing partnership between the City Government of Talisay and the BFP in enhancing local public safety, emergency response capabilities, and fire prevention initiatives across the region.

Reaffirming her commitment to a safer and more resilient community under the flagship Gwapa nga Panghimanwa agenda, Mayor Weng emphasized the vital role of regional inter-agency collaboration in driving sustainable development and safeguarding the welfare of every Talisaynon.
