Please be guided that August 21 is declared a Special Non-Working Holiday nationwide across the Philippines in observance of Ninoy Aquino Day, pursuant to Republic Act No. 9256. This day honors the heroism, legacy, and sacrifice of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" S. Aquino, Jr.

AN ACT DECLARING AUGUST 21 OF EVERY YEAR AS NINOY AQUINO DAY, A SPECIAL NONWORKING HOLIDAY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. Ninoy Aquino Day. — In order to commemorate the death anniversary of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" S. Aquino, Jr., August twenty-one of every year is hereby declared as the Ninoy Aquino day which shall be a national nonworking holiday.
SEC. 2. EDSA Commission. — The EDSA Commission created pursuant to Executive Order No. 82 (s. 1999) shall plan and implement appropriate ceremonies for the observance of the Ninoy Aquino Day.
