TALISAY CITY HONORED WITH KEY EMPLOYMENT FACILITATION AWARDS AT 1ST PESOMAP NIR CONGRESS 2026

The Gwapa Nga Panghimanwa administration, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) led by Manager Marlyn Simondo, earned major commendations from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Negros Island Region during the 1st PESOMAP NIR Congress, held from August 26 to 28, 2026, at Nature’s Village Resort, Talisay City.

- Institutionalized PESO for Calendar Year 2025: Awarded in appreciation of the Local Government Unit's (LGU) efforts in institutionalizing its PESO and sustaining responsive, accessible, and effective employment facilitation services for its constituents.
- Barangay PESO Establishment Recognition: Awarded in grateful recognition of the LGU's exceptional support and dedication in establishing Barangay PESOs throughout Talisay City, significantly expanding the reach of local employment programs.
Mayor Atty. Weng Lizares graced the opening program on August 26, extending a warm welcome and heartfelt appreciation to delegates and participants from across the region.
Mayor Weng voiced strong support for all ongoing employment initiatives driven by DOLE in partnership with PESO. He also expressed sincere gratitude to DOLE Regional Director Atty. Randolf Pensoy for granting a ₱1,000,000 DOLE-TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers) financial assistance fund awarded to Talisay City to support local displaced and seasonal workers.
