PASIDUNGOG PARA SA SCHOLARS 2022: Scholarship Para sa Masa Program, 24 Years of Providing Educational opportunities to Talisaynons

Mayor Neil Lizares leads the celebration of the 24th anniversary of the Scholarship Para sa Masa Program, City of Talisay's flagship program in Education, aimed at providing educational opportunities for all Talisaynon students, especially those who doesn't have the financial capabilities to pursue college education.

On September 18, a program dubbed as "Pasidungog sa Scholars 2022" was held in Celebration of the Scholarship Para sa Masa Program's 24th anniversary with special guest of honor, Atty. Weng Lizares who shared an inspiring message to all the 351 grantees who were present during the celebration, held at the Dela Rama Hall, 3rd Flr., Talisay City Hall.

The Pasidungog sa Scholars 2022, recognizes grantees who excel both in the academics and in other fields. Academic Award and a cash award of Php10K was given to Hannie Babe Enderes, who graduated BS in Psychology, Magna Cum laude at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University.

Three grantees, Ryan Joshua Britanico and Cindy Marie Lacson, both are BS in Psychology graduate and Joemel Guantia who finished the Based Major in Filipino, graduated Cum Laude, were also given Academic Award and Php5,000 each.

Eight grantees who made it to the Dean's List for SY 2020-2021 also received Academic Award and cash gift of Php2,000 each.

Receiving Special Student Award and Php2,000 each were Eljolyn Ponclara, BS in Criminology, 4th year student for being the Student Regent-CHMSU Supreme Government Federation President, together with Mia Nicole Ruiz, an AB Social Science student for Most Outstanding Club President and Most Outstanding Social Science Student and a Student Assistant Service Award to Romelyn Jardeniano, a BSIS student.

Three grantees now Engineers, Arnel Mendoza, Althea Penado and Albert Yangyang from the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas who have just passed the August 2022, Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination were recognized and awarded Php2,000 cash gift.

A total of 17 grantees, 5 of whom are from TUP-V and 12 from CHMSU, each received Php10K for their review for their upcoming licensure examinations.

To date, the city of Talisay has a total of 351 SPSM Program grantees, 77 of whom are from the TUP-V, 240 are enrolled at CHMSU, 32 are under the Special Program for BS in Criminology - CHMSU Binalbagan Campus and 2 grantees are with NONESCOST.

For the SY 2021- 2022, the SPSM Program has a total of 66 graduates, 17 of whom finished their degrees at the TUP-V, 39 graduated from CHMSU, 8 finished BS in Criminology in CHMSU-Binalbagan and 2 from NONESCOST.

All the graduated grantees each received Php1,500 pesos excluding the 4 academic awardees.

The 351 scholars on the same day also received their educational subsidies.

The 77 TUP-V scholars received their Php3K for their 3RD Term educational subsidy. A total of 242 scholars from CHMSU received their 2nd Semester allowances of Php3K each and 18 BS in Criminology students (2nd and 3rd year) each received Php2,300.00 educational subsidy for their summer class for the month of August 2022.
