Mayor Neil Lizares III leads local health officers with City Health Officer Dr. Joy Gladys Guanzon in a special convening of the Local Health Board at the Nature's Village Resort to formulate an intensified approach to fight dengue amidst the proclamation of a National Dengue Epidemic.

In line with this, Mayor Neil pushes for the activation of the aksyon barangay kontra dengue and the increase in awareness and practice of the 4S including the 4 o’clock habit in the private sector, communities, schools and church.

Moreover, the City Health Office will operate its laboratory on weekends and holidays and will continue to offer free laboratory tests for suspected dengue patients, augment on medical personnel and stock up on 2 months worth of buffer supplies until the disease is projected to normalise in October.

The City of Talisay thru the City Health Office staged a massive Citywide Clean Up Drive last July 26, 2019 participated in by city employees targeting mosquito breeding places in the barangays to encourage residents and communities not to let their guard down and to continue and be persistent in conducting regular and thorough cleanups.
The City Health Office cannot stress enough and reiterate to Talisay residents to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and to implement the “Enhanced 4S” which stands for (1) Search and destroy breeding sites; (2) Seek early consultation after two days of high fever; (3) self-protect by use of insect repellants and long sleeves and pants; (4) Say YES to fogging only in hotspot areas where case increase is registered for two consecutive weeks.
