Talisay City Announces P1.6M in Allowances for Local PWDs

In observance of National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week, the Talisay City government recently announced a P450 quarterly allowance will be distributed to eligible persons with disabilities (PWDs), amounting to a total of P1.6 million.

According to Mayor Neil Lizares III, the entitlement is similar to the senior citizens allowance the city currently allocates to eligible beneficiaries.


Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III announced the city will begin distributing a P450 quarterly allowance to eligible persons with disabilities (PWDs), amounting to a total of P1.6 million and scheduled to begin in January 2018.

Based on a city press release, there are a total of 850 registered PWDs in the city.

The mayor noted, distributions are scheduled to begin in January of 2018 but said, time and resources permitting, funds may go out as early at the third quarter of 2017./WDJ
