Talisay City, Home To CISV Youth Delegates From 13 Countries, Received Full Support From Lizares Administration

For the second year in a row, Talisay City, once again home of this year's Children's International Summer Village (CISV) Camp in Negros, hosted 72 youth delegates from 13 countries at the CICM Mission Seminary, Barangay Zone 15, Talisay City.

For close to a month which ended this weekend, the youth campers enjoyed and learned from the different activities lined up by the Team of Carmeli Bantug, Director of Camp Piaya, the name they called their camping ground at the CICM in Talisay.

Among other undertakings tthey got involved in the City, the young delegates lived thru a homestay program in Campuestohan in Barangay Cabatangan. Also, they were served dinner at the famous Talisay tourist destination, The Ruins, sponsored by Mayor Neil Lizares and Talisay City. The TCDRRMO also conducted a half-day earthquake and firefighting drill to the young visitors.

One of the highlight of their stay in Talisay City would be the morning activity to feed some 90 severely wasted malnourished students of the Tayabas Elementary School. Aboard 50 "trisikads" on a motorcade going to the school, the delegates were met by Ms. Lorievic Ofelario, Principal and the whole studentry of Tayabas Elementary School.

This year's delegates in Camp Piaya came from countries like Brazil, Costa Rica, Canada, Germany, Philippines, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Mexico, Mongolia, Vietnam, Thailand, Turkey, USA, and Portugal.

CISV International is a global organisation of volunteers and participants dedicated to peace education through cross-cultural friendship. Through friendship, cooperation, and understanding at a grassroots level, they believe that long lasting peace is possible and attainable.
