The 18th Minuluan Festival: Now Officially Open

A caravan starting from Trafalgar square going towards Talisay City Public Plaza kicked off this year’s 3-day Minuluan Festivities in honor of Patron St. San Nicolas de Tolentino.

Mayor Neil E. Lizares III spearheaded the torch parade starting from Bonifacio Street to the public plaza, together with SPMs Carl Lizares, Rolin Meliton, Randy Ereneta, Nicolas Jalandoni, RJ Tuvilla, Gab Villacin and William Malan, City Department Heads, Executive Assistants and city employees headed by City Administrator Atty. Jonathan Ealdama, Asst. City Administrator Ismael Penado and School Heads from the different schools in the city.

Rev. Fr. Dexter Palagtiosa, OAR, led the invocation and the blessing of this year’s festival. Mayor Neil led the ribbon cutting ceremony and the ceremonial lighting of urn and declaration of Minuluan Festival to open. Prestige Comprehensive School Minuluan Dancers who were lasts year’s Minuluan Street Dancing Competition Champion presented a dance drama depicting the Minuluan festival history.

The opening salvo ended with The 8th Sinigabong Minuluan Drumbeating competition, with 9 competing tribes.
