An urban barangay in Talisay City pioneers barter of rice for household trash especially plastic. Taking to heart a goal to minimize if not eliminate plastic by year 2040.

This is where efforts to eliminate plastic garbage becomes a family affair. Encourage the young children to learn the value by living it.

Stripped plastic garbage should be tightly squeezed into 1 liter or 1.5 liter bottles.

Residents bring in the bottled plastic strips for weighing in at Brgy Zone 10 barangay hall grounds where 2 kilos of rice is bartered for every 1 kilo of stripped plastic garbage.

For every kilo of plastic garbage, a Barangay Zone 10 resident takes home 2 kilos of rice.
