August 7, 2017
Fresh from a succesful alumni homecoming last July 30, 2017, the ICT Talisay Computer Training Center celebrated its 39th Graduation Exercises at the Dela Rama Hall, Talisay City Hall today, with the theme "Educating the minds of our Youth as well as Educating Their Hearts".
Clad in their formal white dress and suit and tie, thirty-one members of the graduating Batch 39 and 40 felt proud with their achievements listening to Mayor Neil Lizares giving his message to the graduates.
Beneficiaries of the graduating batches who gave their valedictory speeches included Ms. Gemma Alisin, 37 years old and Katrina Jimenez of Batch 40, and Erica Fernandez of Batch 39 who endlessly thanked their mentors and Mayor Neil.
Response from the parents came from Mrs. Lani Jimenez and Mrs. Rosalinda Marquez who reminded their children to value and put to good use what the ICT has taught them.
A testimonial from a former beneficiary Mrs. Kithlyn Robles shared her success and stuggles in finishing the program. "Grab the opporrunity given to you," was her message to the graduates.
Mr. Ludgie Enema of Batch 20 shared his life story on how the program has helped him out of the hard life working in the sugarcane fields and brought him to Qatar to work as an administrative assistant in a contracting company. "Trust in yourself," was his advice to the graduates.
Mr. Mark Louie Montaño also shared his experience with the program and has this advice, "continue to dream."
Batches 39, 40 and 41 are three lucky batches as a job opportunity awaits the first 2 batches with a 17,000 pesos allowance while the incoming batch 41 will receive a 500 monthly stipend allowance.
And as a surprise gift to the students and parents, Mayor Neil treated them to a graduation dinner to celebrate their success and for a job well done.
