Talisay City Celebrates as 17 Barangays Certified Drug-Cleared

Mayor Neil Lizares awarded certificates of Drug-Cleared Barangays to Zone 6, 9, and 10 in Nature's Village Resort, Talisay City this morning. The certificates were issued by the Regional Oversight Committee for Barangay Drug Clearing Program.

This brings the total number of drug-cleared barangays in Talisay City to 17 out of 27. Three more barangays have already been pre-validated and are expected to be officially declared drug-cleared in November.

Mayor Lizares congratulated the Punong Barangays of Zone 6, 9, and 10, Oliver Magdato, Reynaldo Loredo, and Aristotle Tuvilla, respectively, as well as the residents of their barangays for their hard work and commitment in the fight against illegal drugs.

He also urged the other barangays to continue working hard to achieve drug-cleared status.

The City of Talisay's Drug-Cleared Barangay Program is a comprehensive approach to addressing the problem of illegal drugs at the community level. The program involves a variety of stakeholders, including the local government, the police, the barangay council, and the community.

The program has been successful in reducing the number of drug-related crimes in Talisay City. It has also helped to improve the quality of life for residents by making their communities safer and healthier.
