Talisay City Releases P4,656,000.00 for 1,940 UCT Beneficiaries

A total of P4,656,000.00 was released for the 1,940 Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) Beneficiaries of the City of Talisay, on November 11, 2018 at the City Public Plaza.

The Talisaynon UCT grantees are among the poorest of the poor members of the community as identified by the National Household Targeting System - for Poverty Reduction (NHTS -PR).

Under the program, each beneficiaries, receives a monthly allowance of P200.00 or an aggregate of P2,400.00 in a year as stipulated in the UCT guidelines.

The Unconditional Cash Transfer is a component of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) program of the national government that aims to reduce poverty and give significant impact on improving both the economic and psychological welfare of the beneficiaries without imposing any obligations on the recipient as it does not require monitoring and follow -up, thus, allowing the poor household the choice in spending their allowances according to their family's needs.

The fund release was undertaken by Landbank Silay Branch, with the presence of the Provincial and Talisay Pantawid Staff, NHTS -PR notifiers, CSWDO staff headed by Elizabeth Mosquera and Asst. Head Dionela Madrona, EA for Multi Sectoral Concerns, Farah Jayme with the support team from ICT, Talisay PNP and TCDRRMO.
