I am happy to let you all know that Patient No. 4, the four-year-old from Purok Pasto, has already tested NEGATIVE. His mother and brother, who were brought to the quarantine facility immediately after his result went out, are also NEGATIVE for Covid-19. The three were transported back to their home for a strict and monitored 14-day home quarantine. The other relatives of Patient No. 4 are still at the quarantine facility as they await the results of their RT-PCR tests. For this reason, the EO with regard to the lockdown of Purok Pasto will be lifted BUT strict community quarantine shall still be imposed for the security and safety of the residents.

I am grateful to all of you for showing your concern to our patients. Please make proper handwashing, proper wearing of your facemasks, and strict social distancing a routine in your households and outside. Let us heal as one.

I would like to make a clarification with regard the case of Patient No. 3. As per the World Health Organization, local transmission indicates location where the source of infection is within the reporting location. Patient No. 3 was not infected within our city nor in any of our barangays. Let it be known that Patient No. 3 was infected after he attended to an LSI patient. Technically, we cannot assume that his case is a local transmission.

Unfortunately, we were informed that Patient No. 3 was able to meet up with his friends in the biking community. We immediately transported all those whom he had close contact with to the E.B. Magalona healing facility for RT-PCR testing. After the test, they will be transported to our quarantine facility. As to their families, they are now under strict home quarantine and are being strictly monitored by our barangay officials concerned. No one in their families is allowed to go out.

For everyone to be worry-free, updates will be posted as soon as possible. This is the only way I know that you will all be forced to do whatever safety measure needed to fight the spread of the virus. This is not the time to sow fear. Let us do our part in this battle by practicing these three important acts, 1. Proper handwashing, 2. Proper wearing of facemasks, and 3. Strict social distancing. In addition, let us continue to pray for each other and our city.

Fellow Talisaynon, this saddens me but I have to let you know so we all stay vigilant and cautious. Talisay City has Patient Nos. 2 and 3.

Patient No. 2 is a Locally Stranded Invidividual (LSI) from Manila who arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport with documents proving that she's negative from Covid-19. Immediately at the airport, RT-PCR test was done and she was transported to our quarantine facility.

Just today, however, her RT-PCR test result showed that she is Covid-19 Positive. The patient is now at the healing facility in EB Magalona. We are now continuously monitoring the people she was with during her quarantine and decided to conduct another RT-PCR test for the safety of all and to make sure Talisay City will be COVID-19 free.

Patient No. 3 is a healthworker at a hospital in Bacolod City. His RT-PCR test was done last July 1, 2020 and he was immediately admitted to the hospital. The result of his RT-PCR test was also released today and it was positive. Please note, however, that the case of Patient No. 3 is not a local transmission of the virus. Patient No. 3 stays admitted at the hospital at this moment.

I understand that some of you may feel scared but this is not the time to panic. I only ask that we all pray for the immediate healing of Patient Nos. 2 and 3. I also urge you all to be extra-careful. Practice proper handwashing, wearing of facemask, and strict social distancing. Let us not allow this news to weaken us, instead let us continue to pray and fight. We are here to protect you, just please cooperate with us.

The city government of Talisay has since been very cautious in its battle against Covid-19. No matter how difficult, we strictly imposed rules and regulations for all Talisaynons to follow. We are always saddened whenever our constituents violate and don't follow protocols.

Just recently, it has come to our attention that a crew member of a vessel owned by the owner of an establishment located here in Talisay City, was quarantined in the said property.

Talisay Mayor Niel Lizares statement on recovered Covid-19 patient

Great news once again! I would like to inform all of you that the Talisaynon repatriated OFW that was reported to be Covid-19 positive last May by our Provincial Government was discharged from the Provincial Healing Center yesterday. Fortunately, our fellow Talisaynon already fully recovered and his last two tests were all NEGATIVE. Thank you to all of you who prayed for his recovery. I urge everyone to remain vigilant. Let us follow the protocols and rules set forth by the government and the IATF. Let us heal as one!

TALISAY ADVISORY. Negative results bring positive news

It is with great relief that I inform you of the results of the tests conducted to the persons whom Talisay positive patient no. 1 might have had come in close contact with. These persons all tested NEGATIVE for Covid-19 in the RT-PCR tests. This is great news but I wish to remind you all that this does not mean that we have to be complacent.
