SJI Ayala Aims For Transformational Learning

There’s no stopping the internet generation from developing this world from learnings via sensory-laden multimedia environment and, as such, the St. John’s Institute (SJI) North Point Ayala Campus in Talisay City is building a new haven for its students to explore the digital world and transition from the traditional learning model to one that is transformational.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) and Mayor Neil Lizares distributed Negros Occidental Health Care Program (NOCHP) cards to 2,327 more indigents in Talisay City yesterday.

The NOCHP beneficiaries are entitled to free hospitalization and health-related services offered by government hospitals in Negros Occidental.

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, 3rd District Representative Jose Francisco Benitez, Provincial Consultant for Economic Affairs Albee Benitez, Abang Lingkod party-list Representative Stephen Joseph Paduano, Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares, III and several others led the distribution of the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Cards (NOCHP) to 2,327 NOCHP enrollees held at the public plaza of Talisay City on Friday, September 27.

Talisay tops 3rd district ‘Food Product Olympic’

Talisay City emerged as the local government unit with the most winners in the 3rd District elimination of the Best Food Product Olympic of the Provincial Federation of Rural Improvement and 4H Clubs, sponsored by the province of Negros Occidental, and held in Murcia yesterday.

The contest was joined by 15 participants from the towns and cities of the 3rd District namely Silay, Talisay, Victorias, EB Magalona, and Murcia.

The 1st Himos ni Kulas Food Festival held in Talisay City, Negros Occidental over the weekend was not just about food, but about reviving heirloom recipes passed on for generations through familial traditions by food-loving Talisaynons.

The concept, drawn out by the Pasidungog Foundation, encourages family entrepreneurship among locals by making delectable and affordable home-cooked dishes ready-for-pick-up for food lovers in the city and nearby localities, a press release from the city said.

Himus ni Kulas Food Festival

1st Himos ni Kulas Festival is about traditions best remembered through the palate of food loving families and friends in Talisay City. Around 19 local food exhibitors shall lead a public display of "heirloom" recipes enjoyed by families over so many years of celebrating birthdates, anniversaries, weddings, festivals, etc.
"Himos" or "Himus" are Hiligaynon terms popularly used for "moving on", "getting ready", "set-up", "prepare", "be up-and-about" or get-going of an activity, an errand or prepare a meal for everyone to feast on.
