The province of Negros Occidental celebrated a momentous occasion as it inaugurated and blessed its new solar-powered streetlights along the Tourism Circumferential Highway (Bacolod-Silay Access Road) in Talisay City. Talisay City, Negros Occidental, was recognized with the Bagani Local Governance Award 2023 as a Seal of Good Local Governance Regional Shortlisted LGU. The award was given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government Negros Occidental and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental on the occasion of the 32nd Local Government Month 2023 held at the Negros Residences, Bacolod City.

Mayor Neil Lizares awarded certificates of Drug-Cleared Barangays to Zone 6, 9, and 10 in Nature's Village Resort, Talisay City this morning. The certificates were issued by the Regional Oversight Committee for Barangay Drug Clearing Program.

Talisay City, August 29, 2023 - Mayor Neil Lizares, accompanied by First Lady Atty. Weng Lizares, conducted a personal visit to the fast relief evacuation center to assess the ongoing flood relief operation at the Talisay City Gymnasium. The center is currently accommodating evacuees from 8 barangays within the city who have been displaced due to heavy flooding caused by continuous heavy rains.
