City of Talisay Expanded Scholarship sa Masa Program Beneficiaries Received Tuition Fee Refund
With their parents and guardians, the second batch of 20 Scholars of the City of Talisay Expanded Scholarship sa Masa Program from TUP-V and CHMSC received their tuition fee refund for school year 2016-2017. As per records, a total of 58 beneficiaries have already received their refunds.
A short program was held during the distribution of the refund, present were Consultant for Education, Mrs. Nemia Laud together with the City Mayor’s and Community Affairs Offices’ staff headed by Community Affairs Officer, Marlyn Simondo who facilitated the activity.
The City Government of Talisay has allocated 4million pesos for the said program, more than enough to subsidize about 500 to 600 scholars every year. Hence, at present, there are only 80 Scholarship sa Masa beneficiaries. Said program aims to support and sustain every Talisaynon college students to finish their studies and get a degree especially those whose families cannot afford to send them in college.
Mayor Neil wanted to increase the number of the Scholarship the Masa beneficiaries, therefore, he encourages incoming freshmen and even college students who wanted to enroll and those who are at present officially enrolled in either TUP-V or CHSMC Talisay Campus to apply and avail the program.
The Expanded Scholarship sa Masa Program is one the flagship programs of the #gwapongaserbisyo. This program is envisioned to sustain and provide for the needs of poor but deserving students especially in terms of their financial obligations in school. City Mayor Neil E. Lizares III is rallying every Talisaynons’ support for the success of the said program.
