Talisay City Celebrates DSLNHS 48th Founder's Day
October 18, 2017
Local and barangay officials, Simplician school faculty and heads, students and parents honor the school's founder and benefactor, the late Honorable Mayor Mario "Batoy" Lizares, in a simple yet grateful celebration commemorating Mayor Batoy and the Lizares clan's generosity and benevolence in donating the land where the Don Simplicio Lizares National High School (DSLNHS) stands today some 48 years ago.
Named after Mayor Batoy’s father Simplicio, the whole Matab-ang community and City of Talisay will always and forever be thankful to all the good things the Lizares family have given and impacted their lives throughout the years. Indeed, the Lizares’ BIG HEART FOR SERVICE FOR ALL TALISAYNON is a legacy that goes unquestioned and that will be enshrined forever.
A Mass, a drill exhibition of the Don Hilarion G. Gonzaga Memorial High School Drum and Bugle Corps, Floral Offering, Hip-hop dance Contest, Search for Mr. and Ms. Founder's DSLNHS 2017 and a Zumba Paint Party were among the activities lined up for the celebration.
Among those present were Sangguniang Panlungsod Member (SPM) Zenia Astorga who delivered a response on behalf of the heirs of the Lizares family, SPM Gabriel Villacin, Barangay Matab-ang Kagawad Manuel Apellido, Kagawad Vince Sellado, Ken Tirthdas and Wayne Faisan.
A Gwapo Pabingo, fun games and feeding activity facilitated by the City Mayor’s Office provided a festive atmosphere to commemorate the school celebration to which everybody enjoyed.
Kudos to all the students, faculty and staff headed by DSLNHS Principal Dr. Randolph Aleman for the job well done.
Putting it simply Simplicians, that was one meaningful and telling day to show gratitude to your awesome Founder.
