3rd district intensified NOCHP

The Third District of Negros Occidental continues to intensify its campaign to reach more families to enroll in the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program or NOCHP to avail of free medical services in times of need, a press release from the Office of Rep. Alfredo Benitez said yesterday.

Reclamation Project: A Boon to Talisay's New and Emerging Investment Climate

Mayor Neil Lizares III, with Congressman Albee Benitez, met with Atty. Alberto C. Agra, Chairman of the Board, Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) to explore on the possibilities of a reclamation and other development projects in Talisay City, Third District of Negros Occidental.

Lizares gives P3.8M to seniors

Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III led the distribution of the second quarter allowance to 728 senior citizens of Barangay Concepcion yesterday.

Lizares has earmarked P 3.8 million for the second quarter for close to 9,000 elderly beneficiaries from the 27 barangays in the city, a press release from Talisay City government said.

Talisay Fathers Battle in a Chef-War Cooking Contest

In support of the Nutrition Month Celebration, the City of Talisay through the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development spearheaded the Cooking Contest highlighting the ERPAT members representing the different barangay daycare centers in the city. The male head of the family contestants were challenged to prepare and serve gourmet-ala carte dishes highlighting the use of local vegetables and fruits in season as their main ingredients. The contenders were judged in the three dishes they have prepared: The appetizer, main dish and dessert categories. The alpha male winners will be announced during the Nutrition Month culmination slated by the end of July.

City of Talisay Received Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance

The City of Talisay is one of the 28 LGUs from Negros Occidental who received the seal of child ~friendly local governance award. This award is given to local government units who champions children's welfare in the areas of planning, budgeting, legislation and services. Out of the awardees, ten (10) will be chosen to vie for the presidential award.

48 Negros LGUs receive  DILG child-friendly seal

Forty-eight of the 57 local government units in the Negros Island Region yesterday received the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance, in ceremonies held in Dumaguete City.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Interior and Local Government spearheaded the awarding at a local hotel, attended by local chief executives and other LGU representatives, among others.
